Magic Hours Children’s Center (“Magic Hours,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through our website at magichourspreschool.com (the “Site”), how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information We Collect
Information you provide. We collect information you give us directly, such as when you:
- Submit an inquiry, contact form, or tour request (for example, your name, email address, phone number, your child’s first name, your child’s date of birth or due date, the program you are interested in, and any message you send);
- Use the chat assistant on our Site (the messages you send and, if you choose to share them, your name, email address, phone number, and message);
- Book or pay for a tour or a paid consultation;
- Enroll your child or communicate with us about programs.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our servers automatically record limited technical information in standard log files, such as your IP address, browser type, device information, the pages you view, and the dates and times of your visits. This information is used to operate and secure the Site. We also use Google Analytics to understand how the Site is used, as described under “Cookies & Analytics” below.
How We Use Your Information
- Respond to your inquiries and schedule tours or consultations;
- Answer your questions through our chat assistant;
- Provide, operate, and improve the Site and our services;
- Understand how families use the Site so we can make it more helpful;
- Process bookings and payments;
- Communicate with you about programs, appointments, and updates;
- Maintain the security of the Site and comply with legal obligations.
How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for advertising. We share it only as needed with:
- Service providers who help us operate, such as our scheduling and payment providers (Cal.com and Stripe), our enrollment and childcare-management provider (ProCare), our chat assistant providers (KURO Studios and its AI provider, Anthropic), and our website, hosting, email delivery, security, and analytics providers (such as Google Analytics and Cloudflare), who process information on our behalf;
- Legal and safety purposes, when required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Magic Hours, our families, or others.
Payments are processed by our third-party payment processor (Stripe). We do not store full payment card numbers on our systems.
AI Chat Assistant
Our Site offers a chat assistant powered by artificial intelligence. When you use it, you are chatting with an AI, not a person. Its answers are generated automatically from information on our Site and may occasionally be incomplete or inaccurate, so please contact us to confirm anything important, such as availability, tuition, or enrollment details.
When you use the chat assistant, we collect the messages you send, the page you were on, and a random identifier stored in your browser so your conversation can continue as you move between pages. Your messages are processed by our website provider, KURO Studios, and its AI provider, Anthropic, to generate responses. We use your IP address temporarily to prevent spam and abuse; it is not stored with your conversation.
If you share your contact details through the chat, they are sent to our staff by email, along with your conversation, so we can follow up with you. Please do not share sensitive information about your child, such as health or medical details, in the chat.
Cookies & Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our Site, such as which pages are viewed and how people find us. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect information such as your approximate location, device and browser type, and the pages you visit. We use this information to improve the Site, and we do not use it for advertising. Analytics data is kept for 14 months. You can learn more about how Google uses this data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and you can opt out by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or by adjusting your browser settings.
Our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile, a security tool that helps confirm a visitor is a person and not an automated program. It may collect limited browser and device information for that purpose. Some pages embed a Google Map so you can find and get directions to us; when the map loads, Google may set its own cookies, which are governed by Google’s privacy policy. Our chat assistant stores a random identifier in your browser’s local storage so your conversation can continue between pages; it is not used for tracking or advertising. Our website platform and hosting may also set a small number of functional cookies that are necessary for the Site to work. We do not use advertising cookies. You can control cookies and browser storage through your browser settings; disabling them may affect how the Site works.
Data Retention
Inquiries submitted through our contact and tour request forms are kept for up to 12 months and then automatically deleted, unless we have a reason to keep them longer, such as when a family enrolls, in which case the information is handled through our enrollment records. Form inquiries are also emailed to our staff, and our website’s email delivery log is kept for about 14 days. Chat assistant conversations are automatically deleted 90 days after the last message. Contact details you share through the chat are kept as long as needed to respond to your inquiry. Website analytics data is kept for 14 months. We may keep other personal information for as long as needed to fulfill the purposes described here, to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
Your Choices & Rights
You may contact us at any time to access, correct, or request deletion of the personal information you have provided, including your chat conversations, or to opt out of non-essential communications. California residents may have additional rights under California law (including CalOPPA and, where applicable, the CCPA/CPRA); to exercise them, contact us using the details below.
Children’s Privacy
The Site, including the chat assistant, is intended for parents and guardians, not for use by children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 through the Site. Information about a child is provided by a parent or guardian.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the information we collect. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Third-Party Links
The Site may link to third-party websites and services (such as our booking, payment, and enrollment providers). Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, and we are not responsible for them.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are effective when posted, and we will update the “Last updated” date above.
